There is an excitement in the air!

October 8, 2010

There is an excitement in the air!  There is an atmosphere of expectancy almost like after a dry spell when you can see clouds forming and the smell of distant rain begins to tickle your nostrils.  Well, not only me, but many in our church smell the approaching rainstorm of God’s Spirit at Church Alive.  Not a shower, but a storm.

When God’s people are excited, united and flowing together it stirs the Spirit of God to move and do great exploits.  Because of a hungry and united people there is a sense that God is up to something in our church and we are poised just as the disciples on the Day of Pentecost for a “suddenly” to hit and a shaking to take place.  Don’t know exactly what or when it will be, but we will know without a doubt that it is a “God suddenly.”

I believe that Mission 310 is the catalyst for this storm that will propel our church into a new dimension of service and activation to be the true Acts New Testament church that Jesus commanded us to be with signs and wonders following.  It takes little to no action to be “just a church,” but it takes genuine hunger, hearts on fire and commitment to be the genuine “ACTion church.”

The New Testament church prospered and turned the world upside down for Jesus because the Bible says they “were together, and had all things in common…and continued daily with one accord in the temple…with gladness and simplicity of heart praising God and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

There is a fire burning in my bones and I believe if we as believers follow the pattern of the New Testament church as the disciples did we will see multiplied numbers added to the church.  My friends, we have been waiting on God too long, God is waiting on us to light the fire of His Spirit in the hearts of men.

Through Mission 310 and a united effort we are going to launch out into the deep and greater depths together through teaching the Word, restoring families, transforming our community, uniting cultures, impacting nations and bridging the generational gap.  Yes, this is the call of the Acts church and by God’s grace we are going to fulfill our call as disciples that all men my see the true glory of God.

It is our desire to work with other pastors and churches in our community and county to reach all men for Christ, but if they don’t care to join and unite with us then we will reach our communities ourselves.  Just about every day I talk to people who are sad and miserable because they are part of a church that the congregation, including the pastor is sitting on their hands and doing nothing for the Kingdom.  If this is you, then come join us and be a part of what God is doing in and through Church Alive for the glory of God.  It’s time for you and your family to stop sitting in your boat watching others walk on the water, get out of the boat and start walking out the things of the Spirit that God has called you to. Stop being just a hearer of the Word, become a real doer of the Word.  Step out and get wet!

My prayer for Church Alive and all who read this blog is the prayer of the disciples following Pentecost. “Now, Lord…grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus…and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.”

That’s my side, what’s yours?
