Our Story

God birthed Church Alive in the mid-1990s in the hearts of two visionary pastors – Gene and Anne Amason. God showed them a group of multi-cultural people from various economic and ethnic backgrounds gathering together in Magee, Mississippi to passionately worship Him. They also had a vision for healthy relationships within the church and community, as well as reaching out to the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Today, that vision is becoming a reality!

Church Alive is alive and overflowing with children, teens, singles and families – people of all ages and backgrounds sharing life with one another, solving problems, healing relationships, experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit, and learning the Word of God. This body meets together each week to study the Word, pray, worship, and fellowship. But it doesn’t end there.

Today, Church Alive is reaching out by extending our borders, seeking to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of those in our area and beyond. Our vision is to impact the lives of individuals, communities, and other nations through the love of God and the transforming truths of Scripture. Church Alive is a witness with words and actions – first, at home, and then globally – working to see lives changed and transformed by Jesus Christ.

In December 2014, twenty years after Pastors Gene and Anne founded Church Alive, Gene Amason II and his wife, Regina, were set in as Senior Pastors. We are excited about the new direction that Church Alive has been headed in since the transition.
